The Sacramento Regional Transit District (SacRT) in California on Aug. 30 will expand its light-rail schedule to restore service to pre-pandemic levels.

The service recovery plan calls for increasing service on the Blue and Gold light-rail lines.

“[Our] service recovery plan is an integral part of supporting the region as it reopens by adding more service to ensure people can safely travel to essential destinations,” SacRT officials said in a press release.

The agency also is conducting a rider survey to better understand how to meet the Sacramento region’s mobility needs as shelter-in-place orders are relaxed and the pandemic continues.

“We are seeking feedback about willingness to take public transit during/after the COVID-19 pandemic to help our advocacy for safe, clean and convenient transit as we move past this crisis,” SacRT officials said.
