Metropolitan Transportation Authority Nov. 7 approved contracts with Atlantic Express Transportation Group Inc. to continue providing paratransit and transportation services to two MTA transit agencies.
A five-year, $109.5 million contract allows Atlantic Express to operate door-to-door Access-A-Ride ADA paratransit services, administered by New York City Transit for people with disabilities. Atlantic Express has provided the service since 1990.
Another five-year contract, this one for $4.2 million, allows Atlantic Express to operate the Hudson RailLink Feeder Bus Service, which daily carries 1,200 passengers to and from Metro-North Commuter Railroad stations in the Riverdale section of the Bronx. The company has provided this service since 1991.
