New Jersey Transit recently approved an amendment to a contract calling for Parsons Brinckerhoff Quade & Douglas Inc. to redesign a portion of the East Rutherford right-of-way along the Pascack Valley Line so the agency can provide direct rail service to the Meadowlands Sports Complex.
"We have laid out an alignment that addresses connectivity, frequency, cost effectiveness and flexibility," said NJ Transit Chairman Jack Lettiere in a prepared statement.
Scheduled to begin in summer 2005 and be complete by 2007’s end, the Meadowlands rail link project includes a new station at the sports complex.
