Metrolink on Oct. 23 will expand the Antelope Valley (AV) Line’s weekday and weekend service.

AV Line schedule changes will include the addition of nine total trains across the weekday and weekend schedule, which will double the number of weekend trains operating along the AV Line corridor between Los Angeles and Lancaster, California, according to a Metrolink news release.

The expansion coincides with the opening of the new Vista Canyon Station in Santa Clarita, which is part of a multimodal regional transit center development.
The additional AV trains are made possible through funding from the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (L.A. Metro).

L.A. Metro's board on Sept. 28 approved a $1.6 million funding increase to restore AV Line service to prepandemic levels. L.A. Metro is one of five county transportation agencies that fund Metrolink.
