GO Transit plans to add more service and adjust schedules next month as part of a goal to better serve riders.
Starting Jan. 5, the Toronto agency will add an earlier train option on the Stouffville and Richmond Hill line in the afternoon; more train trip options for Lakeshore West riders during rush hours, particularly those traveling out of the Aldershot Station; and 16 additional rail cars along the Lakeshore and Barrie lines, GO Transit officials said in a prepared statement.
Also, service will begin Jan. 7 at the new Acton Station.
The service enhancements will help advance Metrolinx's regional transportation plan by "making GO a faster, more frequent and convenient transit option," agency officials said.
