AUDI AG will open its first U.S. manufacturing facility at the Middle Georgia Megasite, located between the Port of Savannah and Atlanta.

The Megasite is directly served by Norfolk Southern Railway, and both the Port of Savannah and Port of Brunswick can be reached by rail in less than 5 hours. The location also offers an investment-ready site, a skilled workforce, an established automotive supplier network and strong logistics infrastructure, Audi officials said on the company's website. The site also provides flexibility and space for future expansion.

“We are proud that Audi has selected Georgia as the home of their first U.S. manufacturing facility," said Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp. “Following the success we've enjoyed with other megasites, we purchased and made more improvements to the Middle Georgia Megasite for just this purpose: to bring a job-creating, high-caliber automotive manufacturer to this region.”

The Megasite was established by the Mid-Georgia Gateway Joint Development Authority, a joint initiative of Peach, Houston and Macon-Bibb counties.

Construction on the plant, designed for an annual production capacity of up to 200,000 vehicles, is scheduled to begin in 2027, with production planned to start in the early 2030s, Audi officials said.
