SEPTA to rehab century-old station
In the coming weeks, the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) plans to launch construction on the Allen Lane Station Improvement Project.
The two-year, $7 million project calls for rehabilitating the century-old, historic facility, which is located in West Mount Airy, Pa. SEPTA will restore an old covered wooden pedestrian foot bridge that extends over the inbound and outbound racks. In addition, the agency will build new high-level platforms, ADA-accessible ramps, canopies and shelters, as well as install improved signage, lighting and a public-address system.
