RailComm to expand operations controller system at BNSF's Montana diesel shop

advertisement

RailComm Inc. will expand a Domain Operations Controller (DOC®) system at BNSF Railway Co.'s Havre, Mont., terminal by adding track protection and power-switch automation functions throughout the diesel shop.

The facility already uses RailComm's remote-control derail and blue flag protection system through a DOC installed earlier this year. Trim tracks are controlled by the operations department from one DOC workstation, while the derail/blue flag protection system is operated by the mechanical department from a separate workstation.

RailComm will install its universal switch controller to establish a local control interface to both new and existing field equipment, such as power derails and power switch machines. The controller will enable the DOC system to provide remote-control functionality to any third-party (new or existing) field equipment.
