The redesigned website is part of the railroad's "Safety, Service and Operational Excellence" strategy, UP officials said in a press release. Almost every department at UP provided input on the redesign.
Navigation of the website has been streamlined so that customers and other stakeholders can find necessary business information and UP "quick facts" more easily. The site also features full-width videos and images that showcase UP's role in the United States economy.
Later this summer, UP plans to launch My Portal, a new customer landing page that will contain crucial shipping information, company officials said.
