Port of Nevada owner and operator Industrial Realty Group LLC (IRG) last week announced the completion of initial construction on a new 238,680-square-foot industrial building at the inland port.

ARCO National Construction is building the new structure, which will be ready for occupancy this fall and will feature 25 loading docks, four drive-in ramps, 104 trailer stalls and 143 parking spots, IRG officials said in a press release. There is room for future development at the site, too, they added.

Located in Fernley, Nevada, the 224-acre port offers transloading services and direct Union Pacific Railroad intermodal service to the Port of Oakland in California. Nearly 300,000 tons of cargo moved through the Port of Nevada in 2025, said IRG officials.

"Companies looking to utilize the new building or construct a custom build-to-suit facility on site gain a distinct advantage in their supply chain by utilizing the rail heavyweight corridors," said Justin Lichter, chief investment officer of IRG. "The right user could see over 30% savings in their supply chain cost."
