Rail News: Railroading Supplier Spotlight
Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) recently awarded a contract to ZyLAB North America L.L.C. to provide support for its fare distribution and sales divisions.
ZyLAB will install its ZyIMAGE program, designed to help WMATA manage its credit and debit activity, and track fare cards that need to be replaced or adjusted. The software will enable the authority to collect and maintain information necessary to identify fraud and theft, and immediately address customer inquiries.
WMATA has determined that a percentage of passengers’ hundreds of thousands of monthly credit-card transactions are invalid because of fraud or a machine malfunction. With ZyIMAGE, the authority will have access to information about stolen cards so credit can be cut off and data on charge backs to determine if a card shows signs of fraudulent activity.
