Software companies team up to provide transit project management tools

Design software and digital content company Autodesk Inc. recently signed agreements with transportation design and planning software firm ViaNova Syatems AS to provide railway and road design transportation solutions.
The software would enable transit agencies to create, manage and share secure road and rail design data with project team members, and manage a project’s planning, surveying, design, construction and maintenance.
Autodesk and ViaNova will develop design software for the rail industry using the existing Novapoint Road and Novapoint Rail software, and Autodesk® Civil™ 3D platform. The software will be designed to provide a three-dimensional engineering model with two-dimensional capabilities, enabling a user to program and visualize scenarios.
