Rail News: Railroading Supplier Spotlight

Rail supplier news from Rail Vision and Nexxiot (June 10)

Rail Vision Ltd. has installed its artificial-intelligence-driven ShuntingYard product in a U.S. Class I locomotive. The railroad will use the system on the locomotive for safety and efficiency evaluation under different scenarios, according to a Rail Vision press release. The product is designed to improve railway safety and operational efficiency by leveraging artificial intelligence and machine-learning algorithms to provide real-time monitoring and obstacle detection, company officials said.

Nexxiot has named Maximilian Eichhorn its CEO. Eichhorn will lead the company in a commercial program to deliver solutions to rail and maritime clients. Previously, he was vice president of digital products and services at Knorr-Bremse AG. Nexxiot and Knorr-Bremse previously signed a strategic investment and cooperation agreement to co-develop intelligent, connected solutions in rail and have been collaborating on digitalization for the past few years, according to a Nexxiot press release.
