Rail supplier news from AXION, Extenet, Hirschmann and Colo Railroad (March 20)
AXION International Holdings Inc. has received $1 million in orders for its ECOTRAX® rail ties to be installed on a Northeast transit line damaged by Hurricane Sandy in October 2012. The company will install the ties this spring.
Extenet Systems, Aldridge Electric and four national wireless carriers have partnered with the Chicago Transit Authority to provide 4G LTE wireless services in the underground portions of the system's Red and Blue subway lines, according to Extenet.
Hirschmann Automation and Control named Jim Kunkle senior quality assurance engineer. Prior to joining the firm, Kunkle was a quality specialist for industrial manufacturer Phoenix Contact.
Colo Railroad Builders appointed Rachel Burns director of sales and marketing. Before joining the Colo staff, Burns worked as director of sales and marketing for Railroad Signal International in Tulsa, Okla.
