Rail News: Railroading Supplier Spotlight
Yesterday, 10East Corp. announced CSX Transportation renewed its agreement to use the supplier’s Railway Daily Operations Control System (RailDOCS™) Mobile Business Platform through 2009.
Under the agreement, 10East will continue to provide the Class I systems and services designed to project manage track and signals, estimate materials and labor, provide electronic forecasts, manage engineering documents and provide geometry car exception reports.
"CSXT was our first Class I customer and we enjoy a very close relationship with them,” said 10East Vice President Mike Wilson in a prepared statement. “Over the last contract period, the relationship enabled us to pioneer handheld computerization of the railway mobile worker.”
A Web-based daily operating management system designed for freight railroads and transit agencies, RailDOCS offers tools to manage business intelligence and processes, personnel and projects. Other RailDOCS users include BNSF Railway Co. and Union Pacific Railroad.
