The Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (GCRTA) recently obtained an $893,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to install video camera systems on 60 Red Line heavy-rail vehicles.

In August, the board approved a plan to purchase similar cameras for 40 light-rail vehicles on the Blue and Green lines, as well as 16 cameras for rail station platforms.
