Total Logistic Control extends rail-car switching contract with Rochelle

Total Logistics Inc. subsidiary Total Logistic Control (TLC) recently obtained a new 10-year contract to provide rail-car switching and placement services for Rochelle, Ill., in the city's industrial park.

For more than a decade, TLC has provided switching services for six Rochelle companies, which use about 4,500 rail cars per year. The city is extending its lead track — which intersects with Burlington Northern Santa Fe's and Union Pacific Railroad's mainlines — more than three miles to serve more shippers by rail, according to a prepared statement.

"With this new contract, TLC is able to continue to serve major customers who utilize rail service for in and outbound freight, and the city can continue to develop further commercial locations within the industrial park," said Total Logistics President and Chief Executive Officer William Donovan.
