Parsons Brinckerhoff creates "place making" division

Parsons Brinckerhoff (PB) recently established specialty service center PB PlaceMaking.

The transportation planning and engineering firm’s newly created division will offer services focusing on areas such as regional growth management, land use planning and public policy, sustainable community development, transit-oriented development, urban design, urban housing initiatives, transit architecture and landscape architecture. The division will emphasize the integration of PB’s land use and transportation design experience to enhance communities.

PB senior professional associate Paul Morris will manage PB PlaceMaking and principal practice leader G.B. Arrington will oversee all technical practice areas.

"By using community-based consensus building to determine what people want from their natural and built environments, we will merge the best of both to deliver economically viable and environmentally sustainable plans and designs that improve the health and well-being for all of a community’s inhabitants," said Morris in a prepared statement.
