Watco recognized as a 'best' midsize employer

Watco Co. LLC has been named to Forbes' 2021 list of America’s Best Mid-Size Employers — the only transportation and supply chain services company to make the list.

Watco made the list by scoring positively on employee input on work-related topics such as working conditions, salary, potential for development and company image, Watco officials said in a news release.

“I’m incredibly proud of our team for creating a culture that looks out for each other while delivering safe and exceptional service to our customers,” said Watco Chief Executive Officer Dan Smith. “This recognition highlights the importance of building relationships, and reminds us how we got to where we are today.”

Watco owns and operates more than 40 short lines, and a number of terminals, ports and mechanical shops.
