TNW Corp.'s NETX Railway begins operations

TNW Corp.'s newest railroad subsidiary, Northeast Texas Railway Co. (NETX), has begun operations in Northeast Texas.

NETX Railway operates a corridor spanning about 66 miles between Greenville and Winfield, Texas, under a long-term agreement with the Northeast Texas Rural Rail Transportation District, TNW officials said in a press release.

The railroad serves agriculture, building materials, chemicals, pipe and recycling industries across Hunt, Delta, Hopkins, Franklin and Titus counties. It interchanges with Union Pacific Railroad and CPKC to connect industries in the region with international markets and supply chains. The short line will invest in the region's rail infrastructure to improve connectivity to North American markets, enhance service reliability, support local industries and create opportunities for jobs and long-term economic growth across Northeast Texas, TNW officials said.

NETX Railway is TNW's fourth railroad; the company also owns the Texas North Western Railway, the Texas Rock Crusher Railway and the Texas Gonzales and Northern Railway.
