A new report from the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) states that recent security measures have decreased the number of safety and security incidents occurring on the Toronto's transit network.
TTC this year implemented CA$5 million-worth of initiatives designed to improve rider safety and well-being. According to a TTC online dashboard tracking those results, the rate of offenses against riders per 1 million boardings fell 33% since January, while the rate of offenses against employees dropped 23%, TTC officials said in a press release.
In addition, the types of offenses since January have become "less aggressive in nature,” TTC officials said.

Additionally, TTC earlier this year partnered with Toronto’s Shelter, Support and Housing Administration; Social Development, Finance and Administration divisions; Toronto Police Service; and Toronto Public Health.
