FTA publishes transit workforce protection recommendations

The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) last week published answers to frequently asked questions (FAQ) regarding recommended transit workforce protections during the pandemic, including personal protective equipment and social distancing practices.

The FTA’s recommendations follow those from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, including providing cloth face masks for frontline workers and disinfecting high-touch surfaces daily.

The FAQ page was published as resource for Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act grantees. The CARES Act provides federal funding to help public transit agencies respond to the COVID-19 pandemic.
