NTSB to release annual 'most wanted' safety improvement list next month

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) plans to unveil its 2015 "Most Wanted List" of transportation safety improvements at a Jan. 13 press conference.

The press event will occur during the Transportation Research Board's (TRB) 94th annual meeting in Washington, D.C. Additional details about the announcement will be released closer to the press conference, NTSB officials said in a press release.
"We're excited about the new list of critical changes needed to improve the safety of our transportation system," said NTSB Acting Chairman Christopher Hart. "The public deserves continuing safety improvements in transportation [and] we look forward to working with the TRB and others to spur action on continuing safety improvements in 2015."

The NTSB's Most Wanted List for 2014 included passenger-rail safety improvements for the first time in the list's history and repeated the need for positive train control implementation.
