ITT KONI's Heavy Industry Series (HI) buffers are designed to offer protection against over travel of transportation vehicles. The large-bore, high-capacity buffers are designed to decelerate moving loads under various conditions and in compliance with industry mandated safety standards (OSHA, AISE, CMMA). These units offer a compact design that smoothly and safely decelerates large energy capacity loads up to 4 million inch-pounds per cycle with standard stroke lengths, the company says. The nitrogen-charged return system is designed to allow for soft deceleration and positive return in a maintenance-free package. Models are available for use in highly corrosive environments as well as optional configurations to suit specific requirements.
