Rail RFP: WMATA Seeks Software Vendors for Track Technology Solutions

The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA/Metro) has issued a request for information (RFI) for software vendors with expertise in Optram and other track analysis technology.

WMATA is looking for vendors to maintain and configure Optram, a software used for analyzing and recording track-related defects, and to provide options for new track analysis software.

Optram is currently used to store, process, analyze, visualize, and plan maintenance for WMATA’s system including over 260 miles of track and 9 rail yards. Any replacement software must perform the same functions detailed in the full RFI, and be able to interact with other WMATA softwares such as Maxtrax and Maximo.

A Q&A session will be held on Thursday, January 11, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. EST.

RFI responses are due by 2:00 p.m. EST on Monday, February 15, 2024.
