Whitmore Rail: AccuTrack® trackside applicator
With input from freight and transit railroads, Whitmore Rail created an advanced design for its state-of-the-art electric trackside applicator AccuTrack®. The design incorporates a new control system with added features, including a controller with robust housing, circuits suitable for all environments, plug-and-play connections and an ergonomically friendly cabinet, the company said.
Whitmore Rail also improved its track-mounted components to allow for better efficiency and easy maintenance to help save time and money, company officials said.
AccuTrack’s improvements include a control system featuring directional pump output settings with a locomotive wheel skip feature, self-diagnostics for troubleshooting, a prime button for continuous pumping, motor braking for precise grease output and a communications port for remote monitoring requirements. Compatible with Elecsys RFM-100 remote monitoring, the system gives customers the ability to monitor battery and solar panel voltage and log axle count and product dispensed in two directions. The Elecsys system also includes an integrated relay to turn the pump on and off remotely, monitor controller on/off status to see unit downtime and more. System notifications can be sent via text or email, based on the end user’s preference.
Additionally, Whitmore Rail introduced its PolyTOR™ maintenance wiping bar. The product consists of a 36-inch long, replaceable, polyurethane bar insert with reinforced port molded in the center. This polyurethane compound is impervious to UV, oil and water and can endure false flange contact, while PolyTOR’s fiberglass-reinforced bulb seal keeps top of rail product in the contact patch, the company said.
