Polaris Industries: Brutus HDPTO Deluxe and Ranger Hippo

Polaris Industries Inc. will give Railway Interchange attendees their first look at two Polaris vehicles geared to increasing mobility and productivity in the railway industry. The company will feature its BRUTUS^® HDPTO DELUXE and RANGER® HIPPO™ at the Minneapolis, Minn., exhibition Oct. 4-7.

With the BRUTUS® HDPTO DELUXE you no longer need a fleet of commercial machines. This one powerful, versatile machine can do the work of six vehicles, delivering maximum versatility and allowing operators to get more done in less time. In addition to proven power and performance, the BRUTUS HDPTO DELUXE is the first vehicle in its class to offer front-end PTO capability. The hydraulically controlled PTO system increases attachment options, driving additional front-end implements including a 70-inch wide-angle broom, two-stage snow blower and out-front finishing mower.

A fully-enclosed cab with in-dash heat, defrost and air conditioning keep the operator comfortable no matter the season.

The RANGER® HIPPO™ pairs a RANGER CREW^® diesel side-by-side utility vehicle with an integrated multipower system. Traveling to sites with no available power is no longer a problem because the RANGER HIPPO brings the power along. The integrated HIPPO™ Multipower™ System enables operators to power hydraulic, pneumatic, electric and welding equipment directly from the vehicle’s diesel engine.

Both vehicles also feature the revolutionary TerrainArmor™ tire technology. These non-pneumatic tires, developed first for military environments, are built to sustain damage without compromising functionality or mobility. The polymeric web design takes the vehicle over almost any terrain where an air-filled tire would fail.
