Gowanda Components Group (GCG) recently expanded its electronic component products and technologies in connection with the acquisition of Dyco Electronics in Hornell, New York. As a result, GCG now offers a wider variety of high-performance electronic components to the rail industry.
Through its Gowanda Electronics and Dyco Electronics affiliates, the company provides inductors, transformers and custom magnetics for rail safety applications. GCG’s components are used in communications-based train control (CBTC); PTC; train-to-wayside data communication systems; grade crossing systems; signaling, switching and track location monitoring; and locomotive-controlling power supplies.
In addition, the company’s magnetics are used at Metrolinx, the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority, the Chicago Transit Authority and other agencies. Dyco Electronics’ custom magnetics capabilities enable the company to provide application-specific solutions to meet the demanding requirements of OEMs involved in rail safety systems and applications. The individual business units that support Gowanda Components Group include Gowanda Electronics, Communication Coil, Butler Winding, TTE Filters, Instec Filters, Microwave Circuits and now Dyco Electronics.
