Frauscher: Surveillance via fiber optic acoustic detection

Based on fiber optic acoustic detection (distributed acoustic sensing), Frauscher Tracking Solutions FTS enables continuous surveillance of various events along the entire track in real time using a single solution.

Algorithms alert and classify individual acoustic signatures to generate information. FTS detects activities on or near the track, such as people walking, digging or tampering with cable. Base alarms can be provided that inform the operator about trespassers and vandalism activities. FTS also can detect broken rails, moving trains, falling rock, flat wheels and more. Multiple 80-kilometer FTS systems provide entire networks with security, train tracking and asset condition monitoring information.
