The National Industrial Transportation League (NITL) recently named Rick Webb and Art Lynch board members.
President and chief executive officer of The Watco Cos. — which owns seven short lines operating in 10 states — Webb is the first railroad executive named to NITL's board.
"The NIT League is the voice of industry transportation in Washington, D.C., so selecting Watco as the first representative of the railroad industry on the board of directors is an acknowledgement of our approach to our customers and an effort by the league to reach out to the rail industry," said Ed McKechnie, Watco Cos. executive vice president for strategic development, in the company's December newsletter.
Lynch serves as vice president of sales for trucking firm ABF Freight Systems Inc.
"The addition of these new members further demonstrates the League’s commitment to the principles of Vision 2020, which was approved by the League in 2002 to expand [our] membership to include not only shippers, but all organizations involved in the movement of freight," said NITL President John Ficker.
