advertisement
Next month, Union Pacific Railroad expects to complete a $4 million track improvement project on a line between Excelsior Springs, Mo., and Allerton, Iowa.
The project, which began on Jan. 28, calls for removing and installing more than seven miles of rail in various curves. Work is expected to be completed at March’s end.
During the past two years, UP has spent more than $80 million on capital projects in Missouri. This year, the Class I has budgeted $2.8 billion for capital expenditures, including $1.8 billion for trackwork systemwide.
