DMTI Spatial March 6 launched CanMap® Rail V1.0, a digital-map database of Canada's railroad network, including mainlines, spurs, sidetracks, rail ownership data and abandoned rail flags.
Ontario, Canada-based DMTI Spatial plans semi-annually to update the software, which is designed at a 1:50,000 scale. CanMap Rail is embedded within CanMap® RouteLogistics, the company's intermodal-routing software that includes full graphics and attribution.
CanMap Rail can help facilitate a wide variety of transportation-related decisions and activities, from intermodal routing, analysis and planning, to telecommunication fiber build-outs, said John Fisher, DMTI Spatial president and chief executive officer, in a prepared statement.
DMTI Spatial previously developed geocoding software GeoPinpoint™ for the Canadian marketplace.
