Software seeks to enhance railroad/customer relationship
advertisement
BridgePoint Inc., a CSX Corp. subsidiary, Jan. 28 launched software designed to enable railroads to more-consistently and more-accurately communicate rail-car moves, contents and schedules to customers.
The software would help railroads provide customers more online visibility of rail-car location and status, and an updated estimated time of arrival.
BridgePoint's solution also is designed to operate on a neutral platform to simplify the collaboration between different transportation carriers, helping create a more-complete vision of product moves.
The software also would enable railroads and their customers to access alert and exception management tools, reporting modules and other features to help automate supply-chain management. Each tool is available globally to individual
users through a secure online network branded by a railroad and hosted by BridgePoint.
