On June 11, Sacramento Regional Transit District (SACRT) will begin service on a 2.8-mile extension from the Mather/Mills station to Sunrise Boulevard.
Serving Rancho Cordova, Calif., the $89 million extension is the first segment of SACRT’s Amtrak/Folsom Corridor project.
Once complete next year, the $237 million Sacramento Amtrak-to-Folsom light-rail project will extend 10.9 miles from the Sacramento Valley Amtrak station to Folsom, Calif. SACRT expects the line to add 6,100 daily passengers in 2005.
