STB: CN can stop filing weekly Wisconsin Central updates
advertisement
On Oct. 3, Surface Transportation Board approved Canadian National Railway Co.'s request to eliminate weekly operational-monitoring reports tied to its Wisconsin Central Transportation Co. (WC) acquisition.
As part of its September 2001 decision approving the merger, the board required CN to file the weekly reports for one year, with an option to extend the period at STB's discretion.
In the recent decision, STB Chairman Linda Morgan noted how smoothly CN integrated WC, and that the Class I still is required to file weekly operational data with Association of American Railroads.
STB ruled that CN still must file periodic updates with the board on information-technology and customer-service issues, as well as progress on the railroad's involvement in the Chicago Planning Group and Chicago Transportation Coordination Office.
