Kansas City Southern de México to use train-handling simulators
advertisement
Kansas City Southern de México S.A. de C.V. recently acquired two train-handling simulators to enhance train crews’ technical training.
To be used in Monterrey and San Luis Potosi, Mexico, the simulators will help the railroad focus attention on appropriate train-handling procedures, according to the “KCS News” Web site.
The simulators will test workers’ knowledge and skills of systems that control traction-braking and tension-compression forces to optimize fuel consumption and avoid damage to track, rail equipment or cargo.
