KCSM marks intermodal facility's opening in Mexico

On Jan. 4, Kansas City Southern de México S.A. de C.V. (KCSM) President and Executive Representative Jose Zozaya joined Mexican and local officials at a grand opening ceremony for an intermodal terminal in San Luis Potosi.

Located in the Logistik Industrial Park, the terminal is two miles south of Interpuerto, a KCSM-served intermodal facility. The park also will be home to a General Motors Corp. assembly plant set to open in May that will access KCSM.

The railroad continues to work with San Luis Potosi officials to move KCSM's yard out of the city's center and acquire locomotives to improve efficiency in the city, according to an item posted on the Kansas City Southern News Web site on Jan. 11.
