Johnstown America tabs rail-industry vet Johnson for VP/regional sales post

Rail-car builder Johnstown America Corp. recently appointed Timothy Johnson to serve as vice president of sales, western region.



Based in Johnstown America’s Chicago office, Johnson will be responsible for marketing forest products and construction materials rail cars, and sales for all Johnstown America products in the western region.



Johnson’s rail-industry background includes various planning, operating, sales and marketing positions with Burlington Northern Santa Fe and predecessor Santa Fe Railway, plus senior sales positions with Thrall Car Manufacturing Co. and Trinity Rail Group.



"We are pleased to have him on our team to help us with marketing and selling our new freight car designs into expanding markets," said Johnstown America Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing Edward Whalen in a prepared statement.
