The Iowa Department of Transportation is seeking feedback from the public, railroads, freight shippers and other stakeholders on its drafted state rail plan.
As part of the rail plan updating process, feedback will be accepted through Aug. 28, Iowa DOT officials said in a press release.
The state rail plan provides an overview of the state's rail network, examines the ongoing development of infrastructure by railroads, and provides a roadmap for developing more rail transportation in the state.
The draft plan can be viewed here; feedback can be submitted via an online form available on the same website.
