The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) recently issued the fiscal-year 2007 Apportionments and Allocations Notice, which details how the agency will distribute about $9 billion provided for federal transit programs under the FY2007 Continuing Appropriations Resolution signed by President Bush Feb. 15.
The FTA will allocate $1.3 billion of the $1.6 billion New Starts/Small Starts program funding to honor existing Full Funding Grant Agreements, and the remaining $265 million to other projects. The FTA also will to allocate $1.5 billion for the fixed-guideway modernization program.
