Rail News: Rail Industry Trends
The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) recently gave a Sound Transit environmental report the thumbs up — putting the transit agency one step closer to obtaining necessary approvals to build the 3.1-mile University Link extension.
To begin in 2008, the project will extend a 15.9-mile segment scheduled to open in 2009, and connect downtown Seattle with the University of Washington.
The FTA approval also cover’s Sound Transit’s environmental plan for a North Link route between downtown Seattle and Northgate.
