CSX Corp. has appointed Pamela Carter to its board, increasing the number of directors from 11 to 12.
Carter is president of Cummins Distribution, a position she’s held since 2008. Prior to joining Cummins in 1997, she served the state of Indiana in several capacities. Carter was the first African-American woman elected to the office of attorney general in any state, according to CSX.
"Pamela brings strong operational experience and insight into regulatory and public policy matters," said CSX Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer Michael Ward in a prepared statement.
