advertisement

California High Speed Rail Authority recently awarded a contract to joint venture SYSTRA Consulting Inc. and Bechtel Infrastructure Corp. to prepare an implementation plan for the state’s proposed high-speed rail system.

Scheduled to be completed in June 2004, the plan would outline the process and steps required to build the system. SYSTRA/Bechtel will create strategies for right-of-way acquisition, final environmental clearances, staging, financing, contracting and project controls.

Currently, the authority is completing a programmatic environmental impact analysis on the proposed statewide network.
