CSX Transportation recently received American Honda Motor Co.’s Rail Destination of the Year award for its Selkirk, N.Y., customer service center.
Based on quality audits conducted by the Association of American Railroads and American Honda, the award recognizes on-time and damage-free delivery performance for finished autos.
CSXT workers unload autos arriving at the Selkirk facility and stage the vehicles for distribution by trucks. The facility handles about 250,000 vehicles annually.
“This award … is a vote of confidence that demonstrates that CSXT is meeting the challenges and expectations of today’s demanding transportation and logistics marketplace,” said Andy Strok, CSXT assistant vice president of automotive, in a prepared statement.
