Canadian National Railway Co. Feb. 25 announced it reached a tentative four-year agreement with Association of Railway Unions (ARU) at former Wisconsin Central Transportation Corp. subsidiary Algoma Central Railway Inc. (ACR).
The agreement, which would cover 124 active unionized employees at the 290-mile short line, is subject to a ratification vote. If approved, the contract would be retroactive to Feb. 1, 2001, and provide increased wages and benefits.
ARU bargains on behalf of six railway unions at ACR, which CN acquired Oct. 9 as part of the WC merger.
