advertisement

Beginning Oct. 31, Amtrak will designate a "quiet car" on each of its 14 daily Hiawatha trains traveling between Chicago and Milwaukee.

Passengers in the car will be asked to refrain from using cell phones, pagers or noisy computer programs, or engaging in loud conversation.

Also on Oct. 31, Amtrak will begin accepting checked baggage onboard Hiawatha trains.
