AMSTED Industries Inc. May 29 announced plans to launch AMSTED Rail Group July 1, placing ASF-Keystone Inc.'s, Brenco Inc./QBS' and Griffin Wheel Co.'s sales and marketing functions under the same organizational umbrella.
The new structure would enable AMSTED Industries to combine sales efforts for castings, bearings and wheels. Company officials believe AMSTED Rail Group can supply 90 percent of a customer’s rail-car undercarriage needs.
"The [group] is designed to enhance our service to the industry by removing the barriers that forced customers to complete individual sales transactions with our three separate companies instead of being able to work with us as a single unit," said William O’Donnell, ASF-Keystone vice president of sales, marketing and product development, in a prepared statement.
AMSTED Industries plans to add services and products through the group.
