GoRail launches ad campaign to promote rail industry

advertisement

Last week, GoRail launched an advertising campaign to promote railroading as the safest transportation mode. The non-profit organization will run TV, radio and print ads to highlight railroads safety success during the past 25 years, including a 62 percent drop in train accidents and 77 percent decrease in the employee injury rate.

The ads also will describe how railroads are better for the environment and more economical than other modes, and tout how railroads moved a record 2.2 billion tons of freight last year, including automobiles, grain, computers, steel and lumber.

GoRail plans to run the TV ads on local Washington, D.C.-area stations, and such national stations as CNN, FOX, CNBC and MSNBC. The organization will place print ads in the Washington edition of the Wall Street Journal, The Hill and Roll Call.

GoRail aims to build support among the rail industry’s more than 400,000 employees and retirees to promote the industry’s agenda and public benefits.
