Plains All American to build rail-served fractionator in Eagle Ford Shale

Plains All American Pipeline L.P. is constructing a new natural gas liquids (NGL) fractionator and expanding a condensate stabilization facility in south Texas' Eagle Ford Shale area, the company announced last week.

The fractionator and condensate facility expansion, as well as related rail and truck infrastructure enhancements, are estimated to cost $120 million and are slated to enter service in second-quarter 2015. The fractionator will be located near existing Plains All American assets in Gardendale, Texas, including rail and truck loading/unloading facilities.

Rail and truck and infrastructure will be enhanced to facilitate loading, unloading and transporting various NGL products produced by the fractionator, Plains All American officials said in a press release.

The company also plans to add a third condensate stabilization train that will provide about 40,000 barrels per day of incremental capacity to the existing condensate stabilization facility, expanding daily capacity to 120,000 barrels, they said.
