10East becomes RMI subsidiary

Rail information services provider RMI has acquired 10East Corp., which provides Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) applications designed to support North American railroads’ signal and communications infrastructure needs. Terms weren’t disclosed.

Founded in 2002, 10East will become a wholly owned RMI subsidiary and continue to operate in Jacksonville, Fla. In addition, 10East’s day-to-day software development and support operations will remain in Jacksonville, RMI said.

10East President and Chief Executive Officer Mike Wilson will remain with the company and head Jacksonville operations; Chief Technology Officer Lester Hightower also will continue to serve 10East in his current role.

10East’s suite of signal configuration, test and inspection, and plan management software and SaaS services “will support our strategy of providing additional operating solutions to various segments in the railroad industry,” said RMI CEO J. Peter Kleifgen in a prepared statement.

Founded in 1979, RMI provides Web-based transportation and logistics software for Class Is, regionals, short lines, terminal switching railroads, rail-car leasing companies, rail shippers and barge operators.
